Whether you have a date after work, a work party, or want to look festive for Valentine's Day, shop for an outfit that is versatile.
This dress was my Christmas party splurge several years ago and it is still in amazing condition. -I am thankful for great construction that holds up at the seams, even in the face of a few weight fluctuations. My affinity for good construction is what has kept me from shopping ASOS clothing. My experience is that ASOS uses inferior material and the construction leaves much to be desired.
I would actually choose a closed toe shoe for this sheath dress but I wanted to wear red bottoms for this V-Day post and realize now that none of my black CL pumps are closed toe!
Will V-Day influence your outfit choice?
Here is some V-Day workwear inspiration:

DeleteLovely dress ;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you!! <3 xoxo
DeleteThis is definitely one of those statement makers that are remembered so it's good that you said it has held up for so long because I am imagining it carried heavy price tag.
ReplyDeleteThank you and as for statement dresses that are remembered, I used to focus on clothes like this. Now I find that my money is best spent on accessories that can often outlast clothes and getting plainer clothes that lend themselves to being transformed through different styling.
DeleteWhat a gorgeous dress! I was wondering if it was D&G, I think they had a similar style a while back but then I see CH...nice! The trench coat you saw in today's post had the sleeves rolled under by 1 turn. They were super long...
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know about the sleeves :)
DeleteAlso, I know the D&G collection you are talking about!! :) xoxo
I love the beeltt<3
ReplyDeleteFollowing you:)
It would be so nice, if you follow me back!

The cinching belt part is my fav part and I just saw a dress at Neiman Marcus by Milly with same midsection design :)

Mandy, you are super sweet. Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate your comment because I am hoping to show that dressing for work can be fun and fashionable--even at historically serious/plain work places.

I am glad you received it! And I'm following you there :D
DeleteYes, ASOS clothing are not durable nor do they look good in person. I just started to shop ASOS over Black Friday and when I received my purchases, I was in disbelief how low quality it was.
ReplyDeleteThat is a stunning CH dress by the way.
Helen
I was very surprised at the quality too especially because the pieces I ordered in the past looked so great in the video with the walking model!
DeleteI think the key is checking the materials listed. When it is 100% polyester but over $25, just run away ;)
Lovely dress!
ReplyDeleteI find some great bargains on asos - I like the return policy too. Never had a problem with them quality wise so far, they make great dresses!

I think you must have a good eye for their pieces that are just done well. --I find the stuff cute but out of 10 orders I finally found 1 dress that pleased me in its construction--I will feature it on here once it is warmer outside but other than that I even kept 3 dresses in my closet (too lazy to return) and 2 had pockets that unraveled without wear. :(
Deletelovely dress!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! <3

DeleteHaving just received my first dress from ASOS, I gotta agree with you here! My mother turned her nose up at the construction as well. But since you can get stuff from ASOS for a fairly low price, it's just a neat chance to go DIY :)
ReplyDeleteLove the dress you're sporting, it looks totally vintage! Would look killer with some sort of chunky monochrome necklace. :D
Yes, if you can get some pics at great prices, ASOS can be a fun DIY--even if just a DIY to reinforce hems :)
