I am finding the app to be a challenge.
Have you tried the blogspot iPhone app?
If so, please share any tips. ;)
So, whether you have a holiday party after your work day with no time to change or you're attending a party held during your 9-5, here are some suggestions.
Basic tips:
- Play up your nails & accessories for easy holiday cheer
- Pair miniskirts with opaque stockings and long sleeves tops
- Splurge on wardrobe staples or pieces that can be worn more than once a year--not trends
Smart casual
While this category can be thought of as a cleaned up casual look amongst friends, wherein you could don jeans, in a professional business setting I suggest thinking of smart casual as interchangeable with business casual. Just as you should not let yourself cozy up by the bartender to be sure that you get good drinks all night you also should not let your guard down by dressing as if you are on holiday. While a jacket is not mandatory for women I would opt for a casual one with statement jewelry or a brooch on the lapel because it adda visual interest and can serve as a conversation starter.
Zara studded blazer $79.90
Cocktail attire

Zara miniskirt $129 White House pencil skirt $168
Business formal
Try a LBD with statement jewelry. Opt for a tuxedo jacket a la YSL smoking or a suit jacket with sheen or embellishment for a look that is office friendly and will keep you stylishly warm in the evening. Banana Republic has faux fur scarves and boleros that would look great over dresses. Ann Taylor's faux fur snoods can be glammed up for an on trend look as well.
Black tie optional
This is my favorite dress code description because it gives you an excuse to dust off the gown hiding in the back of your closet. Don't have one? Then don't reach for that old prom dress and get out to a department store or a small shop like caché for something sleek. Focus on finding a dress that complements your skin rather than one that represents the occasion, this way it will be a gown you can wear all year round if another occasion comes up. A jewel tone I a fun way to be festive but remember that a splurge on one an be tricky since the dress will be more easily remembered.
