Fun with suspenders and Theory pants straight off the rack!
A classic black and white ensemble can be reminiscent of Chanel but with a gray scale palette you run the risk of looking like a waitress.
Distinguish yourself from a hostess or waitress by adding an unexpected accessory like suspenders and a pair of heels with a pop of color. The cut* of these pants are perfect for showcasing shoes, so I chose my green suede shoes since I have been waiting for the fall to pop them out again.
Prefer black shoes? I suggest pointed or peep toe heels with red polish and red lips (not for work):
Anne Fontaine suspenders, Anne Fontaine blouse, Theory Pants,
Louboutin heels (decolette and no prive)
Do you own suspenders?
I like suspenders on women and men (think Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass on "Gossip Girl"--not Larry King). Most of my friends hate them. These suspenders are of great quality and are fully adjustable but they are quite pricey. You can replicate the look of the feminine flower detailing by using pins or broaches on any suspenders.
♥ Thanks for reading and supporting my blog! ♥
* These ibbey pants (graduation fabric) have a cropped cut so they fit me with no hemming required.

What a good idea! Every time I put on a white oxford I feel like a waitress... I don't know if I have it in me to do the suspenders (although adorable). Maybe ones with the detailing though like the second set of pics.
ReplyDeleteLove the suspenders, definitely sets you apart :) And those green suede shoes are just fabulous, I love 'em :)

The suspenders look awesome and it's another great way to infuse menswear in a non-traditional way, vests, fedoras, and so forth! Glad you like the purchasing glasses online post, I had no idea something like that existed and the pleated mini skirt you see in today's post is leather :D just got it from topshop 2 weeks ago! I hope you'll like how I style it later this week!

Great look! Love the pants!
ReplyDelete@ Everyone:
ReplyDeleteI am genuinely surprised but so happy at the supportive response my look with suspenders received because I hardly see them around. I will admit, the fuller your bust area the harder they are to wear. But they are fun and offer an unexpected pop when worn with a suit. <3
Love the outfit! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteI don't own any but love this look! THanks for your comment :) xoxo

I have often wished/hoped I could pull off suspenders. I've been too afraid to try. You look great.
ReplyDeleteI want to cuddle up with your green shoes and pet them! In the least awkward way one can imagine!! :)
ReplyDeleteI also don´t own suspenders but soon I will. Never thought that suspenders can look so sexy. Love them. Janet
ReplyDeleteI love this look. i try to add suspenders to different work outfits. i find that if you have a nice pair of pants which i have a straight leg tuxedo pant that i always look forward to wearing and then break up a white shirt or even a pink one by adding a nice black pair of suspenders when you leave the house you look more confidant and you get more good comments in that 1 day than you do all week. its something about suspenders on a woman that draws more attention and also more respect from people. ( and also more advances from males )not always a good thing.
ReplyDeleteOH MY GOSH!!!! I absolutely love it!!!!!! A pants outfit with suspenders outfit has been on my mind. I love your fresh outake of the green suede pumps. I always go with red, if not black. I will have to try that!!! ...and I would have never adding flowers! I love it!
