Chic in orange and green

Celebrate Halloween in a look that you can wear any day to the office.
Some jobs allow for costumes on halloween. My job is not one of those. So, this was my office appropriate way of channeling a pumpkin through color and textures.

I love statement jackets and this is one of my fall favorites. Not only is this Carolina Herrera trench a fun pop of orange with a belted waist, it has a train the looks amazing when you are hit by a gust of wind.

I do not like to be "matchy matchy" but here the different shades of greens in my belt, necklace, and purse are subtle enough that the slight variation work well because they do not compete and are not trying to match.

These black suede shoes are an old comfy pair from Banana Republic. These heels are great for walking and are a perfect transition into weekend looks with jeans or leggings.

If you follow me on twitter you may have seen that I like being festive with my nails too.

Do you have other work appropriate ways to be festive for Halloween?

Outfit details:
Banana Republic suede black booties, Bottega Veneta necklace, Calvin Klein stockings,
Carolina Herrera dress, Carolina Herrera coat, Hermès purse, Mango belt, datejust Rolex

  5. Wow what a fantastic outfit to celebrate halloween without making it too in-your-face. Love how the green is subtle. It just makes everything look that much more professional and work appropriate, but then the orange trench just adds that pop of colour to make it festive if you want it to be. Amazing!

  10. That Orange trench is just divine. A wonderful and appropriate way to be festive yet professional. I would do the same by adding theme colors or small accessories to jazz up the whole look.

  11. I'm posting anonymously because I was looking through your pictures and you look like such a pretty girl. I think it is a shame that you are hiding your face because I bet your blog would have such a higher following more quickly. --I'm writing anonymously but speaking from experience because I started blogging without showing my face and when I revealed it I became popular. -Just thought I'd share. 19. Simply fabulous! I usually get festive with heels, and that will be the pop of color for Halloween. Taking neutral dresses, tops or skirt and have some striking colored/ print pumps.
I'm already planning my Christmas outfits from VS, satin green skirts and recd patent pumps...ooh can't wait.

I totally agree about the heels! I had a pair of orange suede YSL heels that have been in my closet for a couple of years unworn and I was hoping to take them out for halloween but I wanted to wear my jacket so the double orange would have been too much.

I am so happy to hear you enjoy the name. I have received a couple of e-mails asking if there is something behind the choice so I am happy to hear of someone being drawn by the play on words. I thought of my trademark before starting to blog :)

  31. Wow, I love this look! It's chic and refined but festive at the same time. I would never think that I could pull off orange and green in the same outfit but I love this. Your Birkin bag is gorgeous by the way!
